The Cog

The Cog Project was part of the fourth
year group working tasks.
We were approached by the Highland
council and asked to provide a proposal
for a control building operating the existing and the new swing bridges as part of the Inverness East Link project.

The Council set us a budget and asked
for a better idea than the current one.
As a group, we very quickly decided
that we would disregard the budget and focus on a building which could be set as a gateway building to the city.

Our collaborative Proposal was a two
storey building inspired by a cog used in the lock mechanisms.
The building was to be constructed of
CLT panels to reduce cost and time on
site. With in this group I was working with one other to manage the digital visualisations, using Revit to construct the proposal and to render out some poster images for presenting.
